United Midcoast Charities honors Dr. Clifford Dacso with Award for Philanthropic Excellence
United Midcoast Charities presented its Award for Philanthropic Excellence to Dr. Clifford Dacso, MD, MPH, at its annual Rising Tide event on August 20, “recognizing his extraordinary commitment to the health and well-being of the Midcoast community,” said UMC, in a news release.[…]
Dr. Dacso was nominated for his years of volunteer service to the Knox Clinic and the broader community. Since beginning to volunteer at the clinic during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Dacso has provided medical care to uninsured and underinsured patients, served on the clinic’s Board of Directors, mentored staff and volunteers, supported fundraising efforts, and helped expand access to primary care. Today he serves as its 100%-Volunteer Chief Clinical Officer.
His community service extends well beyond the clinic. He provides guidance to the St. George Paramedicine program, serves as volunteer Health Officer for the Town of South Thomaston, supports community health initiatives, and volunteers as a firefighter.
